The army said it has killed a senior Hamas operative in Gaza who was responsible for the movements rocket oeprations. The army spokesman identified him as Yehia Bia who was killed in one of the northern neighborhoods of Gaza City.
The airforce carried ot more than 130 attacks on Gaza. More than 100 rockets were launched from Gaza into Israel ionlcding Tel Aviv, Holon Bat Yam, Rishon Letzion, Beersheva Ashdod and Ashkelon.
Half of them were intercepted by the Iron Dome system.
Five people were wounded when shrapnel from a Grad rocket hit a car at the entrance to Ofakim. The wounded include a couple and their two year old daughter who were in the car, a and two others. Two sustained moderate injuries and the rest were lightly hurt. And in Ashkelon, a home sustained a direct hit. Two people were lightly hurt.
